WBASA EVENT – LAKE CARLET AND MORGAN RUN
LAKE CARLET WEEKEND and ongoing cruise to MORGAN

Whilst the Morgan Living River event has been postponed, there has been strong support for us to extend our Carlet event and to cruise to Morgan anyway.
We are sharing this event with our colleagues Riverland Cruising Boat Club (RCBC)
Lake Carlet will be the same format as past years, meeting at around the 171km mark. Most people will be there for the three days, others will be attending at various times. Our banner will be on the Lake Carlet bank at our designated site.
Each night we will have a camp fire with cooking on the fire strongly encouraged, so please bring some wood (and stealing wood from Daisywill be considered theft),
Following the relaxing weekend at Lake Carlet, soaking up the scenery, we will continue to Morgan on the Monday at around 11.00am.
P.S Marion is heading upriver and will becoming past Lake Carlet on the Tuesday and there is an option to cruise with her or we may head up on your own at our own pace. We will be a day ahead of her at the start so somewhere along the way she will catch us up.
The RCBC will have a collection of boats sharing this run and some of our members have also registered through RCBC as well. Please also register with WBASA .

If you are coming by road to Morgan, could you please let Luke know whether you could provide transport for others from Morgan to Mark Davis’s place ( see details below)
When registering could you let us know if you intend to come to just the lake Carlet component or Morgan or both.
The idea is that it will be an informal run to Morgan, over five days departing Lake Carlet on Monday with an expected arrival on Friday of that week. Member Mark Davis has very kindly offered to provide us with a roast lamb on the spit at his place at Morgan on the Friday night. His property is not conducive to mooring out front and climbing the cliff, so we will need to work out a form of transport to take those without wheels from our moorings at Morgan to his property. It is only a short distance.
Our cruise distance from Carlet to Morgan is about 150 km so it will average around 30 kms a day
We will have a skippers meet each evening to decide on the mooring spot for the following day. Various options will be offered based on our research.
Some boats are considering not just stopping at Morgan but continuing potentially to the Overland Corner pub.
Other boats are on trailers and will pull out at Morgan.
Other craft will head back downriver to their respective ports, maybe as a group.
This event is a bring your own everything please, including as much firewood as you can carry for the evening campfires. We will not be taking any wood off the land.
This is a longer event than usual for WBASA with many members supporting it, so we encourage you to register to have a good-sized fleet and a lot of boating fun. This will encourage the committee to plan more longer events in future.
