WBASA –  CLASSIC BOAT DAY July Thursday 16th 2026 – AVOCA DELL

The WBASA July Classic Boat Day is based from the Avoca Dell Boat Ramp, approx. 1 hour drive and 80km from Adelaide .

If you are joining us please register online so the Event Manager can keep you updated with any last minute changes.

This July Classic Boat Day is on Thursday the 16th and will suit trailerable boats as well as local river cruisers.

The plan is to be at the Avoca Dell Boat Ramp from 10.00am for launching and then all be under way at 11.00am heading downstream towards Murray Bridge and then onto Long Island for Lunch.
Avoca Dell boat ramp does have a floating pontoon  to assist with launch and recovery of your boat and there will be additional hands around to help you if required.

Plenty of car and trailer parking areas with toilets on site,  no shop or fuel facilities at the Avoca Dell location, you can stop at Murray Bridge for supplies prior launching at Avoca Dell.

Please bring all Food and drinks for picnic Lunch at Long Island Reserve .

This is a particularly good event for those who don’t have access to a boat and would like to travel with somebody else, please advise the Event Manager beforehand if you intend on doing this.
We will cruise from  Avoca Dell and head downstream to Long Island Reserve for lunch arriving at around 12.30pm.
After a relaxing lunch and chat we will then at approx. 2.00pm head back to Avoca Dell arriving at approx. 3.30pm.
After retrieving all boats and a quick debrief of the day’s activities, we could be heading home just after 4.00pm.

The Event Manager will also keep an eye on the weather forecast and keep those people who have registered to attend informed of any changes to the program the day prior.

Be mindful of new life jacket / PDF requirements and other safety equipment required for this area. A two way radio is very helpful at these events, the WBASA preferred UHF channel is 27.

These Classic Boat Days are a great way to get your boat wet, enjoy the company of like minded boaties and chill out. Make sure you note the dates in your WBASA calendar and get along. They are also a great way to test your boat out, get some advice about anything you need and of course check out the other boats.

Support to launch and retrieve your boat, getting a tow if needed (yes, boats do breakdown) and best of all the opportunity to get your boat’s photo in the WBASA calendar are all good reasons to join in!
