| WBASA EVENT – CLAYTON BAY WEEKEND Sat. 10th& Sun. 11th MAY
Would you like to explore the islands around the Clayton area as the Murray widens out toward Lake Alexandrina?
Here’s your chance.
The events Manager Aarron Pearse will be arriving late on Friday evening. He has booked one of the caravans at Clayton Bay Caravan Park
If others intend to get there on Friday there is an opportunity to meet up for a quiet drink in the evening. Just contact Aarron.
Unfortunately Pier 28 restaurant at Clayton will be closed this weekend. Boating commences Saturday morning.
Saturday morning, we are planning on launching our boats by about 10am (weather permitting) at the Clayton boat ramp to then head toward Duck’s Hospital. Then we plan to go around Goose and Goat Islands and possibly Rat Island. On this trip it is advised to BYO morning tea and lunch and we will try to find a nice spot to stop and have some refreshments.
The plan is to be out on the water for 4 – 6hours but this is open to how the group feels and the weather conditions.
Saturday evening, we will likely head over to the Finniss General Store for dinner, Unfortunately this isn’t as close as Pier 28 but it is a nice place with indoor and outdoor options and a decent menu that also caters for our furry friends.
On the Sunday, if the weather is still friendly, we may set out for a second shorter trip that can be discussed on the Saturday.
For those who wish to make it a one-day event you can launch and retrieve your boat at Clayton on Saturday or arrive from elsewhere (Goolwa for example) at 10.00am.
Please let Aarron know of your intention to join this event and whether you intend to attend one day or more by using the contacts below but not responding to this Mailchimp message.
