JIM’S RUN – NOVEMBER 2025 – CLASSIC BOAT DAY
Register online here
On Thursday November 20th we are holding our final classic boat day for 2025 known as
Jim’s Run. This is the last year it will be called Jim’s Run. From next year our November
Classic Boat Day will be known as the President’s Run.
Jim’s Run was named as recognition of the work the late Jim Fowles put into organising
Classic Thursday runs for many years . This event was one of them.
We will be doing our traditional cruise from Fred’s Landing, just downstream of Tailem Bend
to the Wellington Pub for a Christmas lunch. Fred’s landing has a very good boat ramp.
About 2 kms out of Tailem Bend take the right fork and continue on the B2 (Princes
Highway) which runs along side the river for a further 2 or 3 kms until you see the sign to
Fred’s landing.
Fred’s Landing is about the 85 km s on the river and Wellington is around 74 . Most putt-
putts run at around 8-9 kms /hr so the run is about a bit over an hour.
Please plan to get to Fred’s landing by 10.00 to launch and we can get away by10.30,
A consideration to be discussed is to try a mid-river raft up after say half an hour of cruising.
A boat or two can drop anchor to hold the rest of us. Of course, if its windy we won’t bother.
Just a short break, maybe for a coffee and cake and mid river chat and then we will head off
again
We will arrive at wellington at around 12.30 for lunch in the pub. There is a good pontoon to
tie up to.
After lunch at around 2.00 we will head back to Fred’s Landing.
For those who don’t have a boat to cruise in this a great event where you can just turn up at
the pub and meet us for the lunch.
This will be our last Classic Boat Day for 2025 and we hope as any as possible take the
opportunity to join us on what is always a fun day.
Graham Hardy is the event manager . His boat Impulse will be carrying
he first aid kit and defibrillator.
