This Classic Boat Day is on Thursday the 21st at Wongulla
The plan is to be at the Wongulla boat ramp at around 10.30 for launching and then be under way at 11.00am.
Then head downstream for lunch at Walker Flat.
After lunch a leisurely return to Wongulla along the spectacular cliffs later in the afternoon.
Wongulla has a single ramp with car parking and toilets.
For those who don’t have access to a boat and who would like to travel with somebody else, please advise ASAP so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
If the weather is not in our favour Plan B will be to have lunch at a convenient Hotel.
Allan Durden is the event manager for the day, his contact details are below.
If you are going to participate please contact Allan ASAP, so he can advise of any change to the event plans. Allan will keep an eye on the weather forecast and keep those Members who have registered to attend the event, informed of any changes to the program the day prior.
Please bring along your catering needs or food and drink can be purchased at the Walker Flat shop.
Be mindful of new life jacket / PDF requirements now enforced by Marine Safety.
A two way radio is very helpful at these events, the WBASA preferred UHF channel is 27.
These Classic Boat Days are a great way to get your boat wet, enjoy the company of like minded boaties and chill out. Make sure you note the dates in your WBASA calendar and get along. They are also a great way to test your boat out, get some advice about anything you need and of course check out the other boats. Support to launch and retrieve your boat, getting a tow if needed (yes, boats do breakdown) and, best of all, the opportunity to get your boat’s photo in the WBASA calendar are all good reasons to join in!
PLEASE REMEMBER TO REGISTER YOUR INTENTION TO JOIN US BY CONTACTING THE EVENT MANAGER Allan Durden by email kmaard@gmail.com or phone 0408 806 505 035
