Putt – Putt on the Torrens

This will be a great opportunity for those with trailer boats or canoes (or other wooden floating devices) to have a nice day relaxing in the city
We will have access to the Pinky Flat boat ramp and we can leave our cars and trailers on the adjacent parklands (on the sealed driveway).
Arrive at Pinky Flat from 10.30m onwards and launch your boat.
We will have a picnic area set up nearby on the bank.
Then the day is then yours, cruising down to the weir or up to the Hackney Bridge (depending on your draft).
Once we are launched and on the water we will have a few hours to cruise around the Torrens,
stopping at about 12:30 for a BYO lunch on the bank at Pinky Flat, Please bring your own provisions,
after this we can continue to cruise the lake, we must have our boats back on trailers and out by 4.30pm.
Council require WBASA and its members to have public liability insurance, the land environment will be covered by WBASA’s brokers Webster’s.
If participating on water with your boat, you will be required to produce evidence of your boat’s public liability insurance before the event.
So please register as soon as you can.
Details of your car and trailer registration numbers will also be required this year.
Registration is therefore critical for this event for both parking and boat usage for us to convey to council.
If you are coming for the day without a boat that’s ok.
We are limiting the event to 12 boats, as we will only have 12 parking permits for the parklands.
These will be given to boat owners as a priority, and we can transfer these as people come and go.
For launching our boats, there is a good boat ramp at Pinky Flat, unfortunately there is no walkway or pontoon to assist with launching and recovery of your boat.
Also be aware of obstacles along the banks of the Torrens, there are safe areas to tie up along the bank and you will be advised of these.
